A Chinese man has been jailed for selling his 18-day-old baby online so he could buy a new iPhone.
The man, from Tong’un, Fujian Province, used social media to sell his daughter for £2,500 (23,000 Yuan) so he could buy the Apple product and a motorbike, a court in China heard.
The man, identified only by the pseudonym ‘A Duan’, found a buyer through social media network QQ after spending time in internet chat rooms, the People’s Daily Online reported.
The couple, who were 19-year-old when the baby was unintentionally conceived, decided to sell the child after beginning to struggle financially. Full story...
