Extraordinary footage has emerged of the moment a 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal earlier, the second such disaster to hit the country in just over a fortnight.
In the video, a politician can be seen addressing fellow MPs in Kathmandu's parliament building when the podium begins to shake violently with the force of the quake.
The quake, which struck in an isolated area near to the Chinese border at 12.35pm local time, triggered landslides and toppled buildings.
Rescue helicopters were immediately sent to districts northeast of Kathmandu, which the authorities believe were hardest hit.
The second quake was deeper than the one which struck on April 25, killing more than 8,150 people and leaving thousands more homeless.
At least four people have reportedly been killed in the second quake. More + video...
