Salman Khan, one of Bollywood's most popular action heroes, has been sentenced to five years in jail after he was convicted of killing a homeless street sleeper while drunk driving.
Fellow Bollywood stars lined up to pay tribute to the controversial actor and voiced their sympathies for him rather than the victim's family.
One man died and three others were injured in September 2002 when Mr Khan's SUV car mounted the kerb and ran over a group of homeless people as they slept on the pavement in front of a Mumbai bakery.
