Wealthy expats in Asia are helping to fuel the massive growth in sales of custom-made Rolls-Royces.
In the past 12 months, the luxury car marque has seen a 69 per cent rise in the number of ultra-rich residents of the region using its bespoke service to personalise their status-symbol cars.
Favourite options include monogrammed head rests, signatures emblazoned on glove boxes and gold versions of the Spirit of Ecstasy, which is the famous bonnet ornament on Rolls-Royce cars.
Hal Serudin, Asia Pacific corporate communications manager for Rolls-Royce, said: "When it comes to the very wealthy, designing your own car comes naturally after shoes, kitchen and a yacht.
"One female customer asked for her car to be painted the same colour as her nail varnish, highlighting how cars can be an extension of fashion for the ultra wealthy." Full story...
