Cleaning out sharks is all in a day’s work for one engineer who fancied change of scene – and is taking on 33 new jobs in 33 countries.
Jan Lachner’s idea of a challenge is to turn his back on everything he knows and he has now arrived in Britain where he’s signed up for job No.31 as a shark tank cleaner.
The French engineer, who started his quest 18 months ago, said: ‘My highlights have been a beer brewer in the Czech Republic, a photographer in Iceland, a barman in Dublin and an archaeologist in Greece.’
He has also been a flamenco teacher in Spain and a DJ in Belgium.
Now the 25-year-old is spending a week diving into tanks at the Sea Life Centre in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
‘Before this project, I was struck by the number of people who have spent their lives with one company,’ said the Parisian, who has spent £10,000 fulfilling his ambition.
‘I wanted to know what else is out there before returning to the aeronautical industry.’ Photos...
