Cliff Richard, who is known for his clean-cut image, has complained that the pop industry has become "too strait-laced".
Sir Cliff, whose hits have included Living Doll and Summer Holiday as well as Christian-inspired songs, said the business was too keen to play it safe.
The 71-year-old made the comments after revealing how he wanted to make an album under a pseudonym as an experiment but was prevented by his record company.
"They are not interested in testing these things out," he told Australian media.
"So the days of me going into the studio with a band and 12 new songs to create a whole new batch of magical four-minute tracks has passed.'' Full story...
