Canada has pulled out of the UN's World Tourism Organisation in protest over Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe's endorsement as a leader for tourism.
John Baird, Canada's Foreign Minister, said the president's inclusion in the UN initiative was "outrageous" and symbolised "what is wrong with the UN".
It also drew criticism from United States House Foreign Affairs chairman, who said the UN had hit "a new low".
Taleb Rifai, the UNWTO's Secretary General, met President Mugabe, 88, along with Michael Sata, Zambia's president and a staunch backer of Mr Mugabe, at Victoria Falls on the country's shared border on Tuesday. Full story...
