French do not want Strauss-Kahn back in politics...

A majority of French do not want former IMF managing director Dominique Strauss-Kahn to return to politics after U.S. prosecutors dropped charges of attempted rape against him this week, a poll showed on Thursday.

The survey by pollster CSA showed that 53 percent of those questioned would prefer the former Socialist finance minister to play no part in the political debate in the coming months, as France gears up for presidential elections in April 2012.

Strauss-Kahn had been the clear favorite to win next year's ballot, before his arrest on May 14 after a 32-year-old New York hotel maid from Guinea accused him of sexually assaulting her. More...
