Taiwanese singer to protest nude against nukes...


A female Taiwanese singer will stage what she called a nude art performance in front of the Presidential Office on April 25 to call on the country's leader to place more importance on people's safety and say no to nuclear energy.

“Our body is the most natural and direct weapon,” said 27-year-old Lee Mi.

She had caused a sensation five years ago by appearing naked, with Chinese words “rather nude than nuke” written on her back, in a short video produced by a local environmental group.

 Lee said at an event on Thursday that as a singer, she feels it is her responsibility to speak out against nuclear energy in the wake of Japan's nuclear crisis, and she hopes her action will encourage more people to join her effort. More...
