Duke of York costs taxpayers £15m...


Official figures show that over the past decade the Duke of York has spent £4m to fund his work as a special representative for trade and investment.

Royal protection officers provided by the Metropolitan police are estimated to have cost a further £10m over the same period, according to Dai Davies, for former head of Scotland Yard's royal protection squad.

The Duke travels with a retinue of five officials, flying first class on chartered planes and staying in five-star hotels.
