Tony Blair faces having his £2million-a-year personal security protection scaled back as part of police budget cuts.

It is understood that the number of officers guarding the ex-PM's central London home will be reduced at the end of this month - a decision which has angered Mr Blair and his wife Cherie.

And Foreign Secretary William Hague hinted yesterday that the huge expenses claimed by his bodyguards on overseas trips would be much more carefully scrutinised. More...
