"Sweat lodge" claims third life in "spiritual warrior" ritual...

A third person who was overcome in a Native American-style “cleansing” ceremony in a sauna-like “sweat lodge” in Arizona has died.

Liz Neuman, 49, of Minnesota died on Saturday a spokesman from the Sedona sheriff's department said.

Ms Neuman was rushed to the Flagstaff Medical Center on October 8 with damage to multiple organs.

She was among more than 50 people crowded inside the sweat lodge at a New Age centre just outside the resort town of Sedona run by self-help guru James Arthur Ray. They were attending a five day “spiritual warrior” retreat organised by Mr Ray, a motivational speaker and author. More...
