Indian nuclear scientist's body recovered by naval divers...

Six days after Kaiga scientist Loknath Mahalingam went missing from his township home that triggered off espionage and abduction theories, the Indian Navy recovered his body from the Kali river late on Saturday night.

Navy divers recovered the body from the river behind the Nisarga guest house of the Nuclear Power Corporation Ltd in Mallapur township. The divers had searched a 35-40 km stretch in the Kali river, which runs along the Kaiga township, from where Mahalingam had disappeared. The body was identified by Kaiga nuclear power plant authorities and intelligence officers, and confirmed by his family members. The ring and clothes found on the person helped in the identification.
