Mara Carfagna to become Italian govt.'s spokesperson...

A former glamour model and television presenter who lists Sarah Palin among her political icons is to become spokesperson of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's government, she said on Friday. 

Thirty-two-year-old Mara Carfagna, currently equal opportunities minister, confirmed to La Repubblica that rumours circulating for days about her new post in Berlusconi's conservative administration were correct. 

"It is true. The time-frame and exact details have yet to be confirmed, but the intention is to make me government spokesperson. 

"Silvio Berlusconi, again, is favouring the young by giving them important responsibilities, allowing a renewal of the generations," she told the left-wing daily. More...
