When the going gets tough, do we become sneaky?

Hard up Brits are turning sneaky to deal with the credit crunch according to new research. 

Almost 15 per cent of us have taken to dodging rounds at the pub and 'borrowing' cigarettes. 

And almost 17 per cent of us are repaying our employers generosity by stealing loo rolls and claiming back extra expenses from work. 

In total 86 per cent of us have been forced to turn tight to deal with the crunch.

And the so-called "Stealth Saving" will save us around £150 a year according to Norwich Union. 

But it is not going unnoticed. 

At least 68 per cent of people have spotted sneaky tactics being used by friends, family and colleagues in the last six months. 

And in the last three months alone Brits have 'borrowed' the neighbours internet over two million times, taken over nine million items from hotel rooms and cadged nearly eight million free drinks and cigarettes from friends. More...
