Tumour girl Lai Thi Dao making excellent recovery...

On April 30, surgeons at Holtz Children's Hospital located at the University of Miami/Jackson Medical Center successfully removed a 12lb tumor that severely deformed the face of fifteen year-old Lai Thi Dao from Vietnam. Without surgery, the tumor's rapid growth in comparison to the rest of her organs would have eventually led to the critical closing of Lai's throat and collapse of her upper airways.

Thanks to the remarkable work of Dr. Jesus Gomez and Dr. Robert Marx, oral and maxillofacial surgeons of the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center coupled with the overwhelming support that has poured in from generous donors from around the world Lai is making an excellent recovery.

Lai is happy and healthy and her life will only continue to improve over the course of the next several months. Lai will require additional follow up care such as cosmetic surgery and speech therapy. Your support will allow the International Kids Fund to continue to help Lai and hundreds of other kids from around the world receive the life-saving care, they desperately need. We urge you learn about the children in our program and make your donation today!
