Something extraordinary is happening in the world, and most people haven't noticed...

Most of us haven't quite realized there is something extraordinary happening.

A few months ago, I freed myself from standard-procedure society. I broke the chains of fear that kept me locked up into the system. Since then, I see the world from a different perspective: the one that everything is going through change and that most of us are unaware of that.

Why is the world changing? In this post, I'll point out the eight reasons that lead me to believe it.

Addicted to porn? That's unlikely, according to researchers...

Although we've been told that pornography is an addiction, it turns out that isn't the case at all. A new study says the brain activity of “porn addicts” actually decreases when viewing X-rated images.

The research, published in the journal Biological Psychology, “provides clear evidence that porn does not look like other addictions,” Dr. Nicole Prause, sexual psychophysiologist, neuroscientist, and lead author of the study, told Medical Daily.

Prause and her colleagues examined 122 men and women, 55 of whom reported a “porn problem.” While an EEG recorded the participants' brain activity, the volunteers viewed photos categorized as pleasant, neutral, and unpleasant. Half of the pleasant photos were erotic.

In particular, the researchers were focused on something called the “late positive potential (LPP),” which is a common measure for the intensity of the brain's emotional response at a given moment. Full story...

To this day, Kanaka Rekha Nayak still cannot describe what happened to her husband, Parikhit, seven years ago without tears.

An orgy of violence had swept the eastern Indian district of Kandhamal in August 2008 after the slaying of a local Hindu leader was erroneously blamed on the Christian minority, and Nayak’s family of four was caught in it.

They fled to a forest near their village of Tiangia Budedipade and hid for two days, but were found by one of the mobs of Hindu radicals rampaging the countryside. Learning that the Nayaks were Baptist Christians, the assailants threw a bicycle chain around Parikhit’s neck and dragged him more than a mile back to town.

In the central square, they demanded that he renounce his Christian faith and embrace Hinduism. The self-declared Baptist preacher refused, whereupon he was beaten, castrated, gutted, and burned.

“They cut my husband into pieces in front of me,” Kanaka Nayak said in an interview this summer. “Covered him in kerosene and set him on fire.” Full story...

In the last days of August, Bersih, or Clean, the coalition for free and fair elections, held one of the biggest rallies the country has ever seen, with hundreds of thousands of people expressing their disgust over the levels of corruption exemplified by the 1Malaysia Development Bhd. scandal and the US$681 million that was mysteriously deposited in Najib’s bank account in 2013.

However, the organizers of the two-day rally miscalculated badly by not bothering to seek Malay representation after Parti Islam se-Malaysia, the fundamentalist rural component of what was then Pakatan Rakyat, pulled out of the opposition coalition over religious differences. The 90-year-old former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, Najib’s most implacable foe, realized what was happening and rushed to the rally to publicly denounce Najib on both nights of the event to highlight ethnic Malay participation – and earn himself the threat of arrest.

It wasn’t enough. The result was that a powerful message to the ruling coalition was wasted and in fact turned back on the reformers. Despite the presence of Malays in the crowd, a large proportion of ethnic Malays regarded the event as Chinese-inspired and Chinese-driven to force an ethnic Malay government from power despite the overwhelming evidence, both domestic and international, of unprecedented levels of corruption both on the part of Najib and within the United Malays National Organization, the leader of the ruling Barisan Nasional.

That is the hill that the fractured opposition Pakatan Harapan Rakyat must climb – the deeply embedded belief that the Chinese are seeking to destroy a Malay government. Full story...

The economic disparities of modern Britain have been put on stark display, as official statistics revealed that the nation’s already-yawning wealth gap has widened still further over the past two years.

The richest 1 per cent of the population have as much wealth as the poorest 57 per cent combined, according to Office for National Statistics figures. The agency also found overall wealth inequality has increased since 2012, mainly thanks to the soaring price of housing in the South-east of England and London.

The news came just 24 hours after the head of the Government’s Child Poverty watchdog, Alan Milburn, warned that Britain is in danger of becoming an “ever-more divided” society, making a mockery of David Cameron’s “One Nation” rhetoric.

The fresh evidence of economic polarisation also coincides with the revelation by The Independent that the Chancellor, George Osborne, has stepped up his private meetings with representatives of the UK’s big banks since the general election, amid a rising tide of concern that the banking lobby is again exerting an undue influence over government policy, just as it did before the 2008 financial crisis. This last Thursday, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a draft resolution entitled “The right of the Palestinian people to self-determination”, and the result of the voting was 177 countries in favor of the Resolution.

The Resolution reaffirms the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, including their right to have an independent State, and urges all States, specialized agencies and organizations of the United Nations system to continue to support the Palestinian people and help them achieve their right to self-determination as soon as possible.

According to the Resolution, the UNGA confirms the urgent need to end, without delay, the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian Territories and to achieve a peaceful, just, lasting and comprehensive agreement between the Palestinians and Israelis.

All of this agreements, according to the UNGA, should be based on the United Nations resolutions, including the principle of land for peace, the Arab Peace Initiative and the road map drawn up by the Quartet. Full story...

Obama blasted for holiday trip expenses...

US President Barack Obama’s family trip to Hawaii for the Christmas holidays “is too expensive” and will cost millions of dollars, says a government spending watchdog.

Obama and the First Family will board the presidential jet, known as Air Force One, on Friday and head to Hawaii to spend their holidays there for the eighth consecutive year, according to the White House.

The president began the yearly tradition in 2008, before he took the oath of office.

“The Obamas' travel is out of control. They are treating the Air Force One like an Uber ride,” said Tom Fitton, the head of the Judicial Watch, a top government accountability campaigner. “And President Obama seems oblivious to the burden he is placing on Americans with his continuous vacations, getaways, and political junkets at taxpayer expense.”

The US Federal Aviation Administration has confirmed that there are temporary flight restrictions in Hawaii from December 19 to January 4. Full story...

A letter signed by 28 European member state ambassadors to the US was published in The Hill after Europe reacted furiously and with disbelief to plans by Washington to tighten-up the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), which currently lets millions of citizens from the bloc travel to the US each year without a visa.

Last week, the US House of Representatives adopted a bill to reform the visa program that would ban certain EU nationals from entering the US without a visa if they had visited Iran, Iraq, Syria or Sudan after March 2011. Some US politicians want the legislation introduced to tighten security following the November 13 Paris terror attacks.

“A blanket restriction on those who have visited Syria or Iraq, for example, would most likely only affect legitimate travel by businesspeople, journalists, humanitarian or medical workers while doing little to detect those who travel by more clandestine means overland,” the letter signed by the 28 ambassadors stated. Russian President Vladimir Putin has used crude language in a furious new attack on Turkey over the shooting down of a Russian combat jet last month.

"The Turks", he said, had "decided to lick the Americans in a certain place".

He was giving his wide-ranging annual news conference.

Touching on next year's US presidential election, the Russian leader called Donald Trump a "very colourful, talented person" and the "absolute frontrunner in the presidential race".

Mr Putin is now into his third term as president since 2000, battling an economic crisis. Critics say civil liberties have been steadily eroded under his rule.

On the night of 7 January 2012, a stationmaster at a provincial railway station in central India discovered the body of a young woman lying beside the tracks. The corpse, clothed in a red kurta and a violet and grey Puma jacket, was taken to a local morgue, where a postmortem report classified the death as a homicide.

The unidentified body was “a female aged about 21 to 25 years”, according to the postmortem, which described “dried blood present” in the nostrils, and the “tongue found clenched between upper and lower jaw, two upper teeth found missing, lips found bruised”. There was a crescent of scratches on the young woman’s face, as if gouged by the fingernails of a hand forcefully clamped over her mouth. “In our opinion,” the handwritten report concluded, “[the] deceased died of asphyxia (violent asphyxia) as a result of smothering.”

Three weeks later, a retired schoolteacher, Mehtab Singh Damor, identified the body as his 19-year-old daughter Namrata Damor – who had been studying medicine at the Mahatma Gandhi Medical College in Indore before she suddenly vanished one morning in early January 2012. Damor demanded an investigation to find his daughter’s killer, but the police dismissed the findings of the initial postmortem, and labelled her death a suicide.

The case was closed – until this July, more than three years later, when a 38-year-old television reporter named Akshay Singh travelled from Delhi to the small Madhya Pradesh town of Meghnagar to interview Namrata’s father. Singh thought that Namrata’s mysterious death might be connected to an extraordinary public scandal, known as the Vyapam scam, which had roiled the highest echelons of the government of Madhya Pradesh. Saudi Arabia is about to behead a teenage boy for attending a protest aged 15...

Saudi Arabia is believed to be on the brink of executing a teenage boy who was arrested at the age of 15 for attending a protest.

Campaign group Reprieve told The Independent Abdullah al-Zaher, who is now 19, was the youngest in a group of juvenile offenders put on death row as part of a ruthless crackdown on political dissent in the conservative kingdom.

Previously held alongside fellow juvenile offender Ali al-Nimr, whose case sparked outrage around the world, Abdullah has now been moved to solitary confinement at a new facility and could be beheaded at any moment.

In a last-ditch attempt to save their son’s life – and in spite of the danger of repercussions from the Saudi authorities – Abdullah’s parents have gone public with his story. Full story...

A Thai military court had handed down a harsher 19-year sentence, but it was cut in half after she pleaded guilty.

“From her Facebook posts, she was found guilty of defaming the monarchy, threatening state security and violations of the computer crimes act,” a court official told AFP.

The hearing was held without her lawyer’s presence and the verdict was a “secret ruling,” the official told the news agency.

Now that we are passing the Sandy Hook 3rd anniversary, it’s time to turn back the clock and re-examine some unanswered questions pertaining to the event.

The only eyewitness identifications that I can find speak of three white men.

I looked at several published timelines of the shootings. You can, too. Search for “timeline,” “Farook,” “San Bernardino.” No victim identified the two suspects immediately after the shootings, which had ended by the time the police and firefighters arrived at 11:05 a.m. The police had no clues regarding Farook and his wife. The two were shot in a firefight at 3 p.m. They were in a black SUV . . . four hours after the attack.

Four hours. What were they doing during this time? Where were they?

The New York Daily News reported this: “The suspects had escaped the blood-spattered murder scene without swapping a single gunshot with the horde of law enforcement descending on the center, a social services facility for people with developmental disabilities.”

The SUV was spotted four hours later, two miles from the crime scene. How did the police find this SUV? The Daily News says only this: “a tip.” Full story...

One woman was raped every 14 minutes in India in 2014, the data released from India’s National Crime Records Bureau show.

Three years ago today, a 23-year-old woman, Jyoti Singh Pandey, died after being brutally gang raped by six men on a bus in Delhi. The crime horrified Indian and global media, opening up a national conversation in India on sexual violence against women.

One of her convicted rapists, aged 17 at the time of the offence, is due to be released from jail next week. Four of the men were given death sentences and one later died in jail.

Delhi, where Pandey was raped, is the city with the highest increase in rapes recorded - with an increase of 210 per cent since the incident. One in every 4,185 of its 7.6m female population was raped in 2014. Full story...

A Saudi millionaire has been cleared of raping a teenager after claiming he might have accidentally penetrated the 18-year-old when he tripped and fell.

Property developer Ehsan Abdulaziz, 46, was accused of forcing himself on the young woman as she slept off a night of drinking on the sofa in his plush flat in Maida Vale, west London.

He had already had sex with her 24-year-old friend and said he might have fallen on top of the teenager while his penis was poking out the top of his underwear.

Married father-of-one Mr Abdulaziz was cleared of one count of rape following a trial at Southwark Crown Court.

Section 298 contradicts Singapore’s secularism, says Muslim group...

A group of moderate Muslims in Singapore have come forward to critique the law under which teen blogger Amos Yee is being investigated, saying that it contradicts the principle of secularism in Singapore.

Singapore Muslims for Secular Democracy (SM4SD) wrote in a statement that Section 298 of Singapore’s Penal Code, which covers actions done “with deliberate intent to wound the religious or racial feelings of any person”, curbs freedoms in Singapore.

“Section 298 trades freedom for peace. Freedom of thought and expression – including the freedom to criticise ideas and the choice to be free of superstitions – is exchanged for social harmony in Singapore,” said the group.

“From a purely secular perspective: religion and therefore, religious feelings, should not be part of the affairs of the state and civil law,” the statement added, emphasising the role that constructive criticism can play in responding to “negative religious feelings” and extremist interpretations of theology.

The Singapore Police Force said on 12 December that a 17-year-old teenager was under investigation for allegedly making religiously offensive remarks online. Amos Yee later confirmed on his public Facebook page that he was being investigated for comments he had made on a blog post, presumably the one in which he had responded to former Nominated Member of Parliament Calvin Cheng’s argument that the children of terrorists had to be killed. Some 4,000 child victims of "slavery and exploitation" were removed from cocoa plantations in Ivory Coast between 2012 and 2014, authorities fighting child labour in the world's top cocoa producer have said.

The country's national action plan against child labour (PFTE) also said late Tuesday that 23 people had been brought to trial as part of a bid to cut the number of children exploited in the cocoa sector by a third by 2017.

Between 300,000 and a million children are estimated to be exploited by the country's cocoa industry, according to the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI), set up by the industry to fight child labour.

Almost 20 million euros will be spent on efforts to further move forward in protecting children with the aim to reduce the numbers working in the plantations by 70 percent by late 2020.

The funds are to go into extra schools and into economic development schemes aimed at preventing families having to send children out to work.

In the 24 hours between 1 and 2 December 2015, Chennai received 500 mm of rain - a deluge not witnessed in living memory.

At least 270 people are thought to have been killed in the resulting floods.

Among them was R Nalini, 54, a sanitation worker at the Madras Institute of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (MIOT) Hospitals.

The mother of three young adults, R Gokul Krishnan, 22, and twin sisters, R Keerthana and R Keerthika 20, Nalini was swept away by flood waters on the main road leading to her home, in the Semmancheri housing board, which is just off the city's Information Technology corridor.

US politicians and human rights groups have called for a boycott of fish and shrimp products linked to slave labour in Thailand following a report from the Associated Press.

The report found that shrimp producers in Thailand forced labourers to work 16-hour days for little or no pay.

The shrimp is found in products sold in the US, Europe and Asia.

AP said it had tracked shrimp produced under these conditions through to products sold by major retailers.

The news agency reported that many workers could end up being tricked or sold into factories where they were forced to work 16-hour days with no time off and little or no pay.

They were lying of course, and admitted that Turkey was guilty for not only the oil smuggling but all the other supplies crossing the border for ISIL.

US Special Envoy Amos Hochstein had earlier said the amount of oil being trafficked into Turkey was insignificant. And then US coalition spokesman Colonel Steve Warren went even further by saying, “Any thought that the Turkish government is somehow working with ISIL is just preposterous and completely untrue.”

Every major intelligence agency and military with communication intercept and satellite capability has been watching this go on for a long time now. And what cab driver in the world does not know that nothing moves through Turkey without Turkish Intelligence knowing, and getting a piece of the action for its bosses? If ISIL were a problem in Turkey, it would not last over 48 hours.

How did all the Western ISIL smuggling deniers pull the scam off for so long? The possibilities are that they were stupid and incompetent; they had been ordered to lie to the world and their own people for political reasons; or legal ones, like aiding and abetting in a crime against humanity. Or… maybe they are the real Axis of Evil, something I do not say flippantly, as the pile of dead and wounded, the tortures and executions, and over ten million refugees is no joking matter. Vitality Air was founded last year in the western Canadian city of Edmonton but began selling in China less than two months ago.

“Our first shipment of 500 bottles of fresh air were sold in four days,” co-founder Moses Lam says in a telephone interview with the Telegraph.

A balding white haired man walks into a jewelry store with a beautiful much younger gal at his side...

A balding, white haired gentleman walked into a jewelry store in a local mall with a beautiful ... much younger gal at his side.

He told the jeweler he was looking for a special ring for his new girlfriend.

The jeweler looked through his stock and quickly brought out a $5,000 ring. The man said, "Oh No, I'd like to see something more special than that!"

At that statement, the jeweler went to his safe for his special stock and brought out another ring. "Here's a stunning ring at only $40,000" the jeweler said .. as he watched the young lady's eyes sparkle and shine and her whole body begin to trembled with excitement.

The old man seeing this .. smiled and said, "Ok, That's the one. We'll take it." When the jeweler inquired as to how payment would be made, the man stated, "I'll just write you a check. But since I know you'll want to make sure my check is good first, I'll write it tonight and you can call the bank Monday morning to verify the funds and then we'll just drop by and pick up the ring sometime on Monday afternoon."

"That will be just fine" said the jeweler "I'll get it polished and packaged especially for you" ...!

On Monday morning, the jeweler angrily phoned the old man and said .. "You son of ... there's only $25 in your checking account." "Yep, I know," said the old man, "but let me tell you about the unbelievable weekend I just had!!!

Life in Norway ranked world's best for 12th year...

Norway has been ranked the world’s best country to live in for the twelfth year in a row, in the annual benchmark report on human development published by the UN Development Programme.
Jens Wandel, the Dane who heads UNDP’s administrative department, told NTB that Norway’s success in combining solid income growth with a high level of equality had secured its world-leading position.

“Norway has over time managed to increase its income, and at the same time ensured that incomes are relatively evenly distributed,” he said.

“Norway has also succeeded in investing in education and in health. In addition, Norway has a high level of equality between men and women, and these things typically go hand in hand with a high human development level.”

Norway is closely followed by Australia, Switzerland, Denmark and the Netherlands in the ranking, while its neighbours Sweden, Finland and Russia lagged behind at 14, 24, and 50 respectively. Full story...

An old wise soul might be a member of your family, someone you work with, a neighbor or even someone sitting beside you on the bus. Hey maybe it’s the homeless person begging on the street. It could be literally anybody. You just don’t know. I mean they don’t exactly walk around with a label on their forehead but if you watch closely enough you’ll recognize them.

As an old soul you have the most experience in the game of life. You have lived so many lifetimes on earth you must feel tired and exhausted, but hang in there because it is the old souls who are making the most difference on our planet right now.

Old souls can be of all ages, anything from under 20 to over 80. Yes old souls are always with us, they’ve always been here, all over the world on every continent in every town, in all shapes and sizes and they have experienced being either gender during any one of their many lifetimes, whether they lived a few short months or many long years.

Perhaps you are someone who remembers something vaguely, or you feel as if you are an old soul, or even know for sure that you are. Have you ever experienced meeting someone for the first time and you feel you’ve known them forever and you become immediate friends? That would mean that you both are old souls. A woman who suffered what she believes were life-threatening side-effects from a contraceptive pill is now suing pharmaceuticals giant Bayer in what could become a landmark case.

The accusations against Bayer's contraceptive pills Yasminelle and Yaz, based on drospirenone, are not new and the company has already paid out nearly $2 billion (€1.8 billion) to around 10,000 women in out-of-court settlements in the United States to avoid long and costly trials.

But Rohrer's case, which opens on Thursday, is highly symbolic in the company's home country of Germany, where Bayer, maker of Aspirin, stands as a beacon for the domestic chemicals and pharmaceuticals sectors.

Rohrer is suing the company for €200,000 euros in damages and interest.

Very few people bother to read the fine print and, as it turns out, a plane ticket isn’t a contract, leaving passengers at the mercy of the carrier. Brancatelli has revealed five little-known facts that will likely give travellers plenty to think about the next time they book a flight.

Brancatelli, founder of the travel website JoeSentMe, told Yahoo Travel that a ticket is not a contract and the times and destinations on it are not binding.

In their contract of carriage, airlines say they have no duty to honour their posted schedule and may alter or omit the destinations, he added. Full story...

A restaurant in eastern China has been caught charging customers an "air cleaning fee" on top of their food bills.

Diners at the eatery in Zhangjiagang city, Jiangsu Province, were charged one yuan ($0.15; 10p) each to cover the cost of purifying the air inside, the official Xinhua news agency reports. Cities in the region have been enveloped in thick smog in recent weeks, with visibility of less than 100m in the worst-hit areas.

The restaurant's owners recently purchased an air filtration system to improve the dining experience, and covered the cost by passing it on to customers without prior warning, the report says. But after complaints from angry patrons, the local government intervened to stop the practice, telling the owners that it constituted an illegal charge. A city official tells Xinhua that it wasn't the diners' choice to breathe filtered air, so it could not be sold as a commodity.

While those on the receiving end of the charge were unhappy, the idea has been welcomed by many Chinese social media users. "I'd agree to the fee!" declares one person on the Sina Weibo microblogging site, while another says they would happily pay more for clean air. One user suggests that the government should follow suit to deal with the country's severe smog problems. But some criticise the way the owners collected the cash. "Paying is not the problem," writes one person. "The problem is being informed in advance and obtaining consent." Source...
