Josef Fritzl, the Austrian engineer accused of imprisoning his daughter beneath his family home for more than two decades and fathering seven children with her appeared in court today amid tight security in a case said to be unprecedented in criminal history.
The 73-year-old attempted to hide his face with a blue folder as he appeared in the dock in St Pölten, around 40 miles east of the town of Amstetten, where he held his daughter Elisabeth, now 42, in a purpose-built dungeon for 24 years. More...
