Sometimes, a man goes and does something he just cannot explain. A mixture of boredom, perversion, and masochism drives him to adopt a course of action that, in short, baffles both him and those who know him.
For instance, a man who till just the other day was kicking back and shooting the mild Bangalore breeze in flips flops and knee-length shorts is now, suddenly, in Singapore. The world's most boring city. A soul stultifying faux-urb that stuns you with its senseless order and utter lack of life. But that is where I am. Alive, but certainly not kicking. Or shooting the breeze.

Enter the Malay girls. Permit me to say this, but while there are stunners among the Chinese, Indian and Caucasian here, the original inhabitants of this once wild isle the Malay girls are the most lndian of Singapore's preciously preserved flora and fauna.
And they are not to be found in a fenced-off botanical enclosure; they roam free and far all over this town, with their large limpid eyes and ample lips. Between which they dangle lascivious cigarettes as they lean languorously on their male friends or on escalator hand-rails. They are the only ones that every now and again break the dead rhythm of Singapore, not to mention its draconian laws. Full story...
