Taliban abandoning opposition to girls' education?

The Taliban has abandoned its opposition to the education of girls in Afghanistan, according to the country’s education minister.

Farooq Wardak said discussions with the radical Islamic group had led to an agreement that girls were entitled to go to school.

The Taliban has repeated attacked teachers and schools for refusing to comply with its warnings to stop educating girls. More...
