Shoppers 'go crazy' for lightbulbs banned by EU...

A west London store has become one of the last places in the country where consumers can buy traditional lightbulbs.

Since rules designed to cut energy usage came into force in September 2009, it has been a criminal offence to manufacture or import any frosted or "pearl" incandescent bulb or any clear bulb with a power of 100W or more.

Shoppers have instead been forced to buy compact fluorescent lamps which have been criticised for giving off a harsh, dim light and for taking too long to start up. More...
