Microsoft shines again with Windows 7...

On Thursday, Microsoft is going for a do-over. The software giant is releasing a new operating system that it hopes will make people forget about all of the problems with Windows Vista.

I've been testing Windows 7 for a few weeks and have found it to be a fast and stable operating system with a lot of useful features. Like millions of other consumers and companies, I largely skipped Windows Vista, so my review will focus on how Windows 7 compares with XP.

Windows 7 will be installed on new computers and sold as an upgrade in three versions: Home Premium ($120), Professional ($200) and Ultimate ($220).

Right away you'll notice that Windows 7 has a more organized and polished look than XP. Many of its best features save you time by making it easier to access files and perform multiple tasks at once. More...

Don't miss:

  1. Free software group asks NGOs to boycott Windows 7...
  2. Microsoft to offer cheap Windows 7 for students...
  3. Windows 7; which edition is the right one for you?
