The multinational giants had argued that the eatery, based in Jalan Ipoh on the edge of Kuala Lumpur’s downtown, was using the ‘Mc’ prefix illegally but the high court has ruled against any infringement of trademark.
The ruling by ends all legal avenues for McDonald’s to protect its name.
