'Dear Gordon Brown, you killed our son'

The father-in-law of a soldier killed in a bomb blast in Afghanistan has blamed Gordon Brown for his death in an angry letter to the Prime Minister.

Rifles Serjeant Paul McAleese - whose father John was an SAS hero in the 1980 Iranian Embassy siege in London - died on August 20 after he was caught in the blast as he went to help a comrade who was fatally injured in an earlier explosion.

His father-in-law, Stephen Minter, told Mr Brown: 'Because of you I now have a 26-year-old daughter with no husband and a five-month-old grandson with no father.' More + photos...
