In India's Tamil Nadu, you get a gold ring if you give your baby a Tamil name!!!

In a bid to promote Tamil language and culture, the Tamil Nadu government has started a scheme under which babies born in city corporation hospitals would be given a gold ring if they are given Tamil names.

"This scheme will be launched from tomorrow to commemorate the 86th birthday celebrations of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi", Chennai Mayor M Subramaniam told reporters here. More...
