Manuel Uribe, the world's fattest man, goes on a diet...
The 42-year-old Mexican, who weighed 88 stone before starting to diet, is determined to shed 68 stone by 2010, leaving him a modest 20 stone.
If he succeeds, he will beat the current record held by American Rosalie Bradford, who reportedly lost 52.5 stone in the early 1990s.
Mr Uribe, who lives in a reinforced bed and has been housebound for the last six years, started cutting out junk food in March 2006, opting for a diet of fruit, vegetables, fish, chicken and omelettes.
It made a change from years of eating pizzas, burgers, chips and fizzy drinks when he worked as a computer repair man in America.
Back in Mexico, he only added to his weight by eating tacos and fried food. Life grew steadily worse as his wife left him and doctors warned him that his health was at serious risk.
He made a plea for help on Mexican television and became something of a celebrity when his status as the world's heaviest man was confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records.
Since starting his diet, Mr Uribe has shed 37 stone and rejected offers of gastric bypass surgery, determined to lose the weight through healthy eating.
He received advice from American doctor Barry Sears and decided to follow the Zone Diet which is high in protein and low in carbohydrates.
Mr Uribe said he had been in touch with Guinness about his potentially record-breaking diet.
