Failed Turkey coup looked like a Hollywood movie...

A reclusive Islamic cleric accused by Turkish president Recep Erdogan of orchestrating a failed military coup in the country has described the uprising as 'like a Hollywood movie'.

Fethullah Gulen, who has lived in voluntary exile in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania since the late 1990s, was initially an ally of Erdogan but the pair fell out over a massive corruption scandal in 2013 that cost the country $100billion.

After a military coup last month, Erdogan believes his former ally - now sworn enemy - was the mastermind behind the failed bid to topple his government and has called on President Obama to arrest and extradite him.

But Gulen has strenuously denied the allegations, even suggesting that Erdogan himself could have staged the coup in an attempt to crackdown on critics.

And in a new interview with CNN, Gulen has again hinted he thought the failed coup was fake. Full story...
