Waterboarding. Beatings. Men stripped naked and hung from poles for days. It is brutal stuff and until very recently it was information classified as “state secrets”.
That all changed at the end of last year when a US Senate report into the CIA’s detention and interrogation program made public a number of the agency’s questionable “techniques”.
It meant the government no longer viewed everything that went on in CIA interrogation programs as classified. That move was supported by new rules. Details of interrogations can now be revealed but locations and those administering the interrogations must remain secret, Huffington Post reported.
Since then, prisoners have started telling their own stories. Majid Khan is the latest.
