Black protests across US as another killing is reported...

Yet another unarmed black man was shot dead by police after a scuffle in Phoenix, Arizona, leading inevitably to outraged discussions about whether African-Americans are just cannon-fodder for a mostly-white, racist police force in a country that critics say has militarized and empowered them excessively.

Protests are still roiling the Missouri town of Ferguson, and Cleveland, Chicago, and New York City over similar deaths from excessive force by a trigger-happy police, when the latest incident erupted in a state that is already under scrutiny for harsh immigration laws. Rumain Brisbon, an unarmed father of four, was shot dead after a run-in with cops.

As usual there are conflicting versions about the incident: Police say he had a previous arrest record and was suspected of being in a middle of drug deal when a lone officer spotted him after a tip-off. Brisbon fled when confronted and appeared to be reaching for a gun in his waistband when the officer caught up with him, causing the officer to shoot him twice.

Brisbon's friends say he was dropping off food for his kids when the police cornered and shot him. He was found to be unarmed. The item he was reaching for turned out to be some pills. Police say they later found drugs in the trunk of his car. Full story...
