Six Chinese students in France have been attacked in what is described by the French interior minister as an act of racism.
In a statement by Manuel Valls on Saturday, the university students were “violently acted” early in the morning by three local men at their home located in the village of Hostens in the Bordeaux region.
Valls also condemned the attack, which he described as an act of xenophobia.
One of the students was taken to hospital for treatment after being seriously hurt in the face from a glass bottle, which was thrown at her by one of the assailants.
Police have detained two of the alleged attackers, who are neighbors of the Chinese students. Full story...
