An anti-corruption demonstration under the slogan “If you weren't princess (infanta) of the nation, you'd still be facing interrogation” will take place on the 25th of May in Madrid to protest against a Spanish court’s decision to spare King Juan Carlos’s daughter from being questioned in a corruption scandal involving her husband Iñaki Urdangarin.
The march, which was initially planned for the 18th of May, will now be take place on the 25th of May.
The Anticorruption League has obtained permission to rally against the court’s decision in a march that will start at 6pm at Madrid’s Cibeles square and finish off in the city’s emblematic Puerta del Sol.
The catchphrase “If you weren't princess (infanta) of the nation, you'd still be facing interrogation” is being widely promoted on social media networks and numerous high-profile academics, lawyers and judges are expected to attend a presentation on the 22nd of May in which the reasons for the protest will be discussed.
