An Indonesia court has sentenced a Dutchman to three years in jail for molesting four children on the tourist island of Bali.
Jan Jacobus Vogel was arrested in October in Buleleng district on charges he paid the children about $1 for sex. The children, all girls, were aged 9 to 12.
Vogel, 55, was convicted Tuesday by Judge Sri Haryani in Singaraja District Court of violating the 2002 Child Protection Law. She also imposed a $6,500 fine on Vogel.
Vogel's lawyer Geoffrey Nanulaitta said they will appeal, saying the charges were made up, while woman activist Putu Anggreni said the sentence was too lenient. Source...
