Sarkozy case judge gets death threat...

The judge who charged France’s former President Nicolas Sarkozy with taking financial advantage of the richest woman in the country during his 2007 election campaign has been threatened with life.

Jean-Michel Gentil, the most prominent of three judges investigating Sarkozy’s case, received a threatening letter together with blank cartridges on Wednesday.

The letter also contained threats against other magistrates, one of Gentil’s colleagues said.

The Magistrates Union (SM, standing for Syndicat de La Magistrature in French) said in a statement that some of Sarkozy’s political allies had made “insulting statements” in relation to the case. Full story...
