It's time to rage against the machine...

THIS week we all learned how to build a bionic man. Science fiction has become engineering fact.

Dr Bertolt Meyer had a robot built in his image – robot lungs, robot heart, robot eyes, arms and legs. The full robot works.

His brilliant TV documentary showcased the latest in prosthetics, state-of-the-art stuff that could improve the lives of millions.

This is fabulous technology that means wounded soldiers will no longer have to rely on eye-patches, hooks or wooden legs.

We also learned from the show that scientific advances mean that seven hours are added on to human life expectancy every single day.

So around the middle of this century, we can all expect to live to 100, rather than the traditional three score and ten. Full story...
