An Arizona judge told a sexual abuse victim that she wouldn't have been groped if she didn't go to the bar that night. The judge issued an apology on Friday after outrage arose over what many consider victim blaming.
Coconino County Superior Court Judge Jacqueline Hatch sentenced Department of Public Safety Officer Robb Gary Evans, 43, to two years' probation, community service and treatment for putting his hand up a woman's skirt and fondling her genitals at a bar in Flagstaff, Ariz.
But Hatch also had harsh words for the woman in court on Wednesday.
"If you wouldn't have been there that night, none of this would have happened to you," Hatch told the woman. Full story...
