Indian guru Nithyananda Swami - facing assault charges - has surrendered to the authorities in Bangalore and has been remanded in custody.
Accompanied by his lawyers and a few devotees, he arrived at a court on Wednesday and was taken into custody by police for a day of questioning.
He is being held following separate complaints of assault made by a journalist and social activists.
Nithyananda denies all charges made against him.
