A dog saved its own life by calling the police after it had wound a telephone cord around its neck.
George, a 2-year-old Basset Hound, had got himself into the predicament when, while alone at home on Saturday, March 24, he knocked a telephone to the floor and became entangled in the wire.
Amazingly, he then managed to dial 999, seemingly as he pawed at the phone in a panic.
Although George was unable to ask for help, The Sun reports that the emergency operator alerted police, who then rushed to the home of driving instructor Steve Brown and his daughter Lydia. Full story...
