A Romanian government official accused people stranded by snow that they had made paths only to the local bars.
Prefect of Buzau county, Paul Beganu, said that the only accessible paths in the villages where the snow got as high as to the roofs of the houses were those to the bars.
Beganu said: "Do you know where the first access ways were made," he asked journalists. "But not by shovel, by walking - to the bars."
"I've shown the prime minister as well, in Sageata. The first places the locals went to were the bars. On the left, there were the gates, blocked by half a metre of snow, the fountain was covered by one metre of snow, and on the other side, everything was smooth to the bar. Full story...
