Murder convict in India escapes after making warders drunk!!!

It's not just prisoners in movies, a la Jai and Veeru in "Sholay," who can come up with ingenious ideas to escape from jail. It seems real prisoners too never give up when it comes to being 'clever' while finding a way to flee. A prisoner in Nabha jail escaped on Wednesday night, not by using a mock pistol, but with the help of liquor.

Parmjit Singh, a murder convict, walked out of jail without much ado after allegedly serving liquor to three jail wardens of Nabha jail. The department has suspended the three, who were allegedly drunk when the convict managed to secure the keys of the main gate from one of them. The jail authorities got to know about the prisner's escape only in the morning during the counting of prisoners.

Though the jail authorities are tightlipped and unwilling even to give the names of the officials, whose alleged indiscipline led to the prisoner escaping, sources informed that Parmjit from Sherpura area of Sangrur district was lodged in this jail in 1998 after he allegedly murdered a jail warden, Zora Singh, posted in the Malerkotala jail.
