A thief in China underwent breast enlargement surgery and took female hormones to disguise himself as a woman, in a bid to evade police.
The 21-year-old, identified only by his surname Ming, was on the run for stealing 7,000 yuan (S$1,400) in April from his employer, a barbershop owner, Shanghai Daily reported.
After he fled from the shop in Changzhou, Jiangsu province, Ming relocated frequently before authorities caught up with him Xinyang, Henan.
Ming confessed that he had gotten the breast enhancement done in a private clinic in Zhengzhou and took female hormones to keep up with the disguise, Shanghai Daily said.
The ploy apparently worked, as police said in reports that Ming's masculine features had diminished when they arrested him.
Police are, however, now trying to ascertain his gender before they can put him in custody. Source...
