A Florida woman has been arrested after police say she tried to sell her five-year-old son to a fellow churchgoer.
Police in Tampa said James Gardner went to the sheriff's office Saturday morning to report a woman was attempting to sell him her child.
He said he and his wife had met the woman at church and knew she was struggling to make ends meet. They befriended her and her son and began helping pay for food and other expenses.
Over time, Gardner told police he noticed the woman had a prescription drug addiction, and she was leaving the child in their care more frequently. More...
