A real estate company was suspected of releasing several thousand scorpions into apartments in Shenzhen to force residents to move out and make way for a new construction project.
According to China.org.cn, a resident surnamed Chen woke up early on Monday morning to discover a scorpion crawling on his body. As much as that would scare the life out of most, it was just the beginning.
Turning on the light, Chen was met with the sight of a bedroom full of scorpions. Waking up his family, together they captured several hundred scorpions in his apartment. Local news portal Southcn.com reported the eight-legged terrors to have a poisonous sting.
However, the horror was again more widespread than that. Chen later learned from his neighbour that colonies of the arachnids were discovered in all apartments on the street. More...
