Ryan Giggs, private lives and injunctions...


Given how events unfolded this week, it’s hard not to conclude that Ryan Giggs has received legal advice which was the equivalent of what’s known in football as a hospital pass.

By following the guidance of his high-powered lawyers, a personal embarrassment has become a PR catastrophe. And it might well have cost him as much as £250,000 – so far – for the privilege.

Exposure of his extra-marital fling with a pneumatic brunette from kiss and tell central casting would have been at best a two-day wonder, of interest to a minority of national newspaper readers, if he had allowed the story to be published. More...
