Swearing will be banned in another Australian state, if it approves a new law later this week.
Police in Victoria will be able to fine people guilty of "obnoxious" swearing up to AU$240 (£155) on the spot, according to AFP.
A Victorian attorney-general explained the reasoning behind the pending legislation, telling ABC Radio: "This will give the police the tools they need to be able to act against this sort of obnoxious behaviour on the spot, rather than having to drag offenders off to court and take up time and money in proceedings."
