Indian investigators have filed a new court request seeking the extradition of the former chief of a US chemical company in connection with the 1984 Bhopal gas leak disaster.
The Central Bureau of Investigation filed an application for a new trial for Warren Anderson - then chief executive of Union Carbide over the industrial disaster in which more than 15,000 people died and hundreds of thousands suffered leak-related illnesses.
Investigators are making a new attempt to extradite Mr Anderson from the United States after numerous earlier efforts were rejected by the US. More...
