Four dead in Bahrain as riot police launch brutal crackdown on peaceful protesters...


Bahrain was in lockdown last night after at least four people were killed when police attacked demonstrators in a bid to crush pro-democracy protests in the tiny Gulf kingdom.

Another 60 protesters were said to be missing and 300 injured in the brutal crackdown. A two-year-old was said to be among the fatalities.

The authorities claimed the country had been pulled back from ‘the abyss’ while Britain and the United States urged ‘restraint’ amid fears of more bloodshed after Friday prayers today. More + photos + video...
