31,728 murders in India in 2009. Why Indians kill...


Most households in India are shocked at the turn of events in the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case, where Aarushi’s parents have now been accused of killing their daughter.

But murder is all too common in India, and the motives can range from the mundane to the bizarre.

On 25 January, the New Delhi-based National Crime Records Bureau released its newest report on crime in India, for the year 2009.
