£1.2 million bill as Euro MPs go on a "jolly" to Uruguay...


A PLANNED “jolly” for MEPs said to be costing taxpayers up to £1.2million was condemned as “outrageous” yesterday.

The three-day jaunt to Montevideo in Uruguay is being run by the EuroLat Assembly which aims to strengthen links between European Parliamentarians and their Latin American counterparts.

There are 75 MEPs from across the EU who are full members of the European Parliament’s half of the Assembly, including one British Conservative, Emma McClarkin. More...
