Kuwaiti emir grants $4bn, free food to citizens, but foreign workers can dream on...

Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Monday ordered the distribution of $4 billion and free food for 14 months to citizens as the emirate prepares to mark national occasions.

The state news agency KUNA reported that Sheikh Sabah has ordered the gifts for all the estimated 1 million Kuwaiti citizens.

It even covers newborns until Feb. 1. But excluded are the more than 2 million foreigner workers, mostly South Asians. More...
