India's corrupt civil servants courted as potential grooms!!!

Government offices in Uttar Pradesh, India's most populous state, have reported a surge in visits from families looking for potential grooms for their daughters among new recruits to the civil service.

Although most civil servants earn tiny salaries, they can still take home vast sums from corrupt dealings, depending on which department they serve.

The Indian government is currently paralysed over allegations of corruption in Commonwealth Games projects and the allocation of mobile phone operator licenses. The governing party in Bihar, which stood on an anti-corruption platform, was returned to power in a landslide victory. More...
